Missourians Get Insurance Company Rankings

For the first time, Missouri's Department of Insurance rates the performance of the state's 40 largest insurance providers. Kelly Just has more from the State Capital.

The new rankings include providers of H-M-O, automobile, life, homeowner, and accident and health insurance.

A company's success is based on the number of customer complaints logged during the past three years.

Insurance Department Spokesman, Randy McConnell says the complaint indicator finally offers a user-friendly way to see a company's customer service record.

The new ranking of Missouri's top 40 dealers takes up just two pages and is free through the Department of Insurance.

McConnell adds the department will also answer questions about specific carriers that may not be in this new list.
