The Corrections Department is bringing in reinforcements to the Jefferson City state penintentiary to help control the violence after five stabbings in the past month.

Buses carrying extra guards have been rolling into the Jefferson City State Penitentiary.
Corrections officials say the guards are a response to the to recent stabbings.
40 additional guards each day are helping speed the search of inmates' cells for other weapons and paraphernalia.
Officials say the searches have turned up other "items" but wouldn't specify what those are.
Assistant Director of Adult Institutions, Michael Groose (Gr-oos), says the prisoners have been cooperative.
There have been six assaults at the prison this year.
