Moriarty Won't Run

Missouri's 1996 election campaigns will not include a comeback by former Secretary of State, Judy Moriarty. Kelly Just reports from Jefferson City.

ABout two years ago, Judy Moriarty was kicked out of office and handed a criminal conviction for illegally filing her son's name to run for a legislative position. Even though the former Secretary of State says her public approval ratings remain high, Moriarty announced she's staying out of the 96 campaign.

Moriarty says she wants to be remembered for more than the difficult times in government. She says she hopes history will remember her positive accomplishments, including the state's new motor voter program.
