The sponsor of the vetoed partial-birth abortion bill says he wants to go home and leave the issue for next session. Rebecca Sapakie has the story in Jefferson City.
Southeast Missouri Senator Peter Kinder said that the partial-birth abortion issue, as it stands, is deadlocked.
Kinder said there was no reason to go forward with a bill in this special session.
Kinder called the governor's new bill a step backwards in Missouri law.
But, Carnahan said it was urgent to act now on the issue of partial-birth abortion.
