A bill proposing that the history of the American flag be taught in elementary schools across Missouri was heard before a senate elections committee.
The bill would require schools to teach students about the American flag and what it represents.
House bill sponsor, Bill Boucher of Kansas City says that many Missouri students do not know the meaning of our country's flag or the pledge of allegiance.
No one spoke in opposition to the bill.
