A Missouri House committee has approved new rules prompted by the sale of Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis.

Monday night, the House Critical Issues Committee recommended that the full House pass guidelines for the sale of not-for-profit hospitals.
St. Louis County Senator Betty Sims says she created the bill in order to protect communities from loosing their medical care.
But one critic says he would feel better about the bill if it gave citizens even more protection.
Now the full House begins debate.
