Methamphetamine Bill Being Drafted

The governor's office says legislation targeting methamphetamine labs will be seen as early as December.

Jennifer Sheffield has the story from the capitol.

The December goal gives lawmakers two months to complete a bill to stop the illegal production of methamphetamines.

That's the word from Carnahan's office after Monday's Methamphetamine Summit.

Contents: He says stopping the drug labs is a priority of the governor.

While state officials discuss new legislation, a federal law has been in effect since last Thursday. It requires retailers to record sales of chemicals that can be used to produce the illegal drug.
