The Missouri House passed a bill Tuesday aimed at curbing abuses of handicapped parking permits and places.
Susan Batt has the story in Jefferson City.
If you park in a handicapped space without a permit or with an unauthorized permit, you could pay up to 300 dollars. Minimum payment would be 50 dollars under the suggested law.
St. Charles area Representative Bill Luetkenhaus proposed the measure that requires signs warning about the fines at restricted parking places.
The bill also requires that a handicapped person be with the car when a permit is used.
Now the bill moves to the Senate for debate.
