Missouri drivers will see more highway patrolmen if a safety program receives more funding. Stacy Covtiz has the story from Jefferson City.
Additional funding for the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program would not hire new patrolmen, but it would fund more overtime hours for those already on the payroll. Missouri Representative Gracia Backer says the highway patrol will ask the legislature for the money in the next session.
Backer appeared at a press conference to show her support for the program. From the state capitol, I'm Stacy Covitz.
