A Missouri lawmaker says the Corrections Department is trying to cover up problems with Correctional Medical Services. Aaron Cummins has the story from Jefferson City---
St. Louis City Representative Charles Troupe says Department head Dora Schriro is trying to hide mistakes made by her administration.
He says the two doctors hired by Schriro to investigate CMS are Shriro's friends and that they're findings will be biased.
Troupe chairs the Corrections Appropriations Committee and says he will ask for an independent investigation into what he calls misuse of taxpayer money.

St. Louis representative Charles Quincy Troupe says the Department of Corrections is wasting taxpayer money. Aaron Cummins has that story from Jefferson City---
Troupe says department head Dora Schriro is wasting money by investigating the prison system's medical services from within.
Troupe says the investigation would be more fair if it was done outside the department.
He says keeping the investigation in the department closes the chain of communication and keeps the legislature from seeing see what's going on in the department.
