Two prominent female members of the Democratic party are calling for Jean Carnahan to fill in for her husband in the Senate race.
Secretary of State Bekki Cook and State Auditor Claire McCaskill were the first to publicly say Jean is favored to take the seat.
Cook says that Jean has the overwhelming support of the public.
Cook also says there is no doubt the Democratic party wants Jean to step in.
State Auditor McCaskill voiced similar thoughts:
While Democrats may have been hoping, so far there's been no word of a decision from Jean Carnahan -- except for a short statement Monday thanking Missourians for their support and "love."
