JEFFERSON CITY - The Missouri State Administration turned over taxpayers' property into Democratic land to prepare for John Kerry's visit. The public was not allowed on the State Capitol grounds unless they asked the Democratic party for a ticket.

JEFFERSON CITY - State Auditor Claire McCaskill easily defeated Gov. Bob Holden for the Democratic nomination for governor Tuesday.
It was the first time in Missouri history a sitting governor lost a primary for re-election -- although it as only been since 1968 that governors could seek re-election. In the nation, the last time an incumbent governor lost a primary was 10 years ago.
McCaskill was helped a huge out-state voter turnout that passed the constitutional ban on gay marriages and defeated the Wite River gambling proposal.
Although Holden won the St. Louis area, it was in the more conservative areas of rural Missouri were McCaskill piled up votes.
