State Senator John Dolan, a Republican from Lake St. Louis, may become the next Executive Director of the Missouri Health Care Association.

Rick Hardy, a political science professor at the University of Missouri, was one of the initiators of a movement that imposed term limits for the Missouri General Assembly.

State Senators and Representatives are not allowed to serve more than two four year terms.

Hardy says term limits are a likely factor in Dolan's decision.

"I would think that one of the factors had to be, at least in the back of his mind, that there would be restrictions on how far he would run and how long he could stay as a senator, and how effective he might be in that position"

Dolan is up for reelection to a final term in the senate next year.
