State politicians can now file their bills for the upcoming legislative session that begins in January.
The Speaker of the House, Republican Rod Jetton says he will again sponsor a bill that requires all children in kindergarten, first grade, and Head Start programs to receive a vision examination.
"Primarily, the one I know I'm going to work with is the children's vision, trying to make sure all of our kids have a head start of getting good eye sight."
Jetton says he won't file his bill until the beginning of session when he can get others to co-sign it.
Jetton says he will also sponsor a bill that would help the elderly combat high heating costs.
