House Speaker Rod Jetton creates a new committee to redistribute school money

Missouri House Speaker Rod Jetton says he wants to find a new way to fund public schools. Victor Roberto has more from the state Capitol.

The Speaker announced the creation of a new committee to fix education funding. The committee is made up of legislators, school superintendents, and former educators. Columbia Representative Ed Robb has high expectations of the committee.

Contents: We will have a new funding formula by the end of this session...that we will present to the governor.

Robb is also on the Joint Committee on education. He says this committee will be able to introduce new legislation, unlike the joint one. From the state Capitol, I'm Victor Roberto.

House Speaker Ted Jetton created the committee to find better ways to fund public schools. The group's main goal is to find the best way to distribute money to Missouri public schools. Jetton appointed Rep. Brian Baker to chair the committee.
