JEFFERSON CITY - Missouri's congressional delegation plan to continue to fight the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers latest draft that will induce two Missouri River spring rises.

The spring rises are expected to help the endangered pallid sturgeon.

JEFFERSON CITY - SEMA provided an all-day training session for case managers working with evacuees of Hurricane Katrina and Rita.

JEFFERSON CITY - Bird Flu hasn't hit American shores yet, but state officials are watching the disease as it continues to spread overseas.

A bird specialist with the Missouri Department of Conservation, Andrew Forbes, says if the flu were to infect wild birds in and around the state, there's nothing the Department could do.

State veterinarian, Shane Brookshire, says that while it's a good idea to prepare, there is currently no threat.
