Republicans say they hope the new ownership of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch will provide more fair and balanced coverage on issues. Republican Representative Carl Bearden says he hopes the ownership will be interested in giving both sides of the story.
"The treatment of these issues particularly in the editorial section are given short tripped and not the whole story."
But Democrat Senator Pat Dougherty says the St. Louis Post-Dispatch does a good job on the issues that are hard to deal with like race relations and education. From the state Capitol, I'm Jade Mingus.

The St. Louis Post Dispatch has new ownership and Republicans say they are excited for the change. Jade Mingus has more on what Missouri politicians are saying about the new ownership.
The Post-Dispatch is now owned by Lee Enterprises, and Republicans say they hope the new company brings changes. But Democratic Senator Pat Dougherty says in the past the Post-Dispatch has done a good job covering controversial issues.
" They also have to bring things up that need to be discuss that adress the big issues in society like healthcare, drugs, race relations and if they move away from that we aren't going to be served very well."
Dougherty also says that the editorial page needs to fight the status quo and stand up for the under-dog. From the state Capitol, I'm Jade Mingus.
