Guided, not shoved, says Highway Patrol

Intro: Support Services Bureau Commander for the Missouri Highway Patrol said Matt Blunt's security guard guided a reporter away from the governor, but did not shove him.

Beth Ford has more from Jefferson City.

OutCue: SOC The security personnel filed an incident report with the Highway Patrol, but Major Bret Johnson said there will be no further investigation into the incident at this time. Blunt evaded questions about the incident, which video footage posted by the Kansas City Star shows he was witness to.

Johnson said that the reporters were stopping the governor's car from moving, but the video footage shows the door was closed before the security guard made contact with the reporter. From the state capitol, I'm Beth Ford, KMOX News.

Major Bret Johnson of the Missouri Highway Patrol said the security guard filed a report concerning the incident.

The security guard didn't shove the reporters, but acted under the scope of his authority, Johnson said.

Johnson said while the reporters didn't necessarily pose a threat to the governor, the reporters were preventing him from leaving.

The governor didn't answer questions concerning what he witnessed on Monday, despite the fact that video posted by the Kansas City Star depicts the moments before the reported incident.
