After a House substitute amendment, the Do-Not-Resuscitate bill passed first-round approval.
It allows residents to decide whether they want doctors or paramedics to treat them if in serious physical harm.
Many supporting representatives, including the bill's sponsor, Jefferson City republican Mark Bruns, told examples they had experienced to show why this bill should be passed.

The bill has to go through one more vote before it passes the House chamber and to goes to the Senate.
