Missouri lawmakers passed a bill allowing for a state incentive package that could trigger an aircraft manufacturing company to make way in Kansas City, Missouri.

If the incentive works, the Canadian aircraft company, Bombardier would invest $400 million into building a passenger jet assembly plant at the Kansas City International Airport.

Legislators say this plant would bring 2,100 jobs and an excess of 5,000 jobs for suppliers for Missouri.

Republican Senator Charlie Shields says this legislation creates an aerospace corridor.

Missouri lawmakers, on a day they call a great day for Missouri, have sent a bill to the governor allowing for state incentives for a Canadian aircraft manufacturing company to land in Missouri.

The goal is to have the company,Bombardier, invest $400 million into building a plant at the Kansas City International Airport.

Republican Representative Ron Richards says the $200 million tax increase would not greatly affect Missourians.

Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder praised the idea of bringing 2,100 jobs to Missouri saying this step is only the first in getting Missouri back in the game of mega business deals.
