Not counting contributions of 5,000 dollars or less, Gubernatorial candidates, Attorney General Jay Nixon and Congressman Kenny Hulshof have raised more than a combined 1.6 million dollars since the repeal of the limits took effect.

Monroe County Democratic Senator Wes Shoemyer opposes the repeal of the limit and says it doesn't follow the wishes of Missouri citizens who voted 3 to 1 in favor of these limits in 1994.

Description: They will create transparency, but I think this transparency comes at a much deeper price than if we had really taken the time to address this in other ways.

Along with Senator Shoemyer, former Minority floor leader, Maida Coleman says the repeal takes away the ability for the masses to provide input into the election.
Some supporters of the repeal argue it will make it easier to see who's contributing to the campaign.
