Consumer advocate and former Green Party candidate Ralph Nader announced Sunday that he is running for president for a fifth time.

Democratic Senator Chuck Graham from Boone County holds Nader responsible for former Vice-President Al Gore's loss for the nomination back in two-thousand.

Run Time: 00:12
Description: Well obviously he was irrelevant eight years ago but I think that most people within the Democratic Party learned their lesson. Those that voted for Ralph Nader put George Bush in the White House for eight years.

Close to forty thousand Missourians voted for Nader in two thousand.

He received only twelve hundred votes in two-thousand-four.

Senate Minority Leader Maida Coleman of St. Louis said she questions the consumer's advocate's desire for the position of Commander-in-Chief, saying he should have said something about his try for the White House a long time ago.

Run Time: 00:14
Description: A person who's serious about the presidency of the United States would have been out there months ago maybe even two or three years ago letting folks know that he wanted to be president and that he was a serious contender.

Nader is currently running as an Independent because he has not been formally endorsed by any party. Some members of the Green Party are pushing to give him another chance.

Ralph Nader is back in the presidential race but some members of the Democratic party think Nader has no chance in the November election.

Democratic Senator Wes Shoemeyer of Monroe thinks Americans are tired of the third party candidate's efforts for the White House.

Actuality:  SHOEM1.WAV
Run Time: 00:13
Description: I would say for him the third time is not the charm this time. That, no it will be significantly different in the fact that he will not even find, I don't believe, the support that he had garnered in past elections.

Nader ran as the Green Party nominee in two thousand and as an independent in two thousand four as he failed to recieve a party endorsement.
