Marble Hill Representative Rod Jetton ended his term as Speaker of the House Wednesday with a tearful goodbye speech.
Jetton said he tried to bring both parties together during his time as Speaker. He says the ability to make laws depends largely on mutual respect between the minority and majority parties.

"He talks a good game about bi-partisanship, but when it comes right down to it he has no problem shutting off debate and going straight to a partisan line vote. Plenty of money to his pocket, but not a whole lot of leaderhsip for the people of Missouri."
Marble Hill Representative Rod Jetton could not hold back tears as he spoke to the House for the last time as Speaker.
Jetton sobbed as he spoke of his friends and the support from people during difficult times.
Jetton said he tried to create a more bi-partisan environment in legislate.
He became Speaker of the House in 2005 and is leaving due to term limits.
