Intro: The Governor addressed a federal stimulus package of $800 million in a single sentence at his State of the State address.

Governor Nixon's speech to the state briefly addressed a federal recovery package that Senators had not yet heard about.

House Budget Committee Chairman Allen Icet, a Republican from St. Louis County said no Senators knew about the package, but he had been curious where Nixon was planning to get the money.

Description: "I was wondering given the hold he has to fill this year through the withhold and the hold next year how he going to actually do that, and I was not surprised. I told some of my colleagues he may use that federal money to balance the budget which, again, I do not believe is prudent."

Icet also said he was leery of balancing the 2010 budget with dollars not yet in their hands.
