State economic development director resigns

One of Gov. Jay Nixon's cabinet officials resigned Monday after a rocky eight months on the job. Theo Keith has more from Jefferson City.

Wrap: State Economic Development Director Linda Martinez wrote to Gov. Nixon, saying she was sorry the two couldn't meet to reconcile their differences.

Nixon spokesperson Scott Holste didn't deny those words in the resignation letter.

But, when asked about the disagreements between Nixon and Martinez, Holste simply restated the governor's press release.

HOLSTE: "Well, the governor certainly appreciates the work that she's done over the past eight months."

Holste says Martinez will return to private law practice.
