Several dogs joined more than two dozen dog shelter workers from around the state in the Capitol to bring awareness to the public and legislators about animal shelters.
The shelters are also supporting Prop B. Missouri Alliance for Animal Legislation's Executive Director Bob Baker says the new bill goes too far.

Missouri animal shelters and their dogs came to the Capitol to defend Prop B and also educate people on what the shelters do.
Stray Rescue in St. Louis volunteer Connie Davie says that Stray Rescue makes sure the dogs get into a good home.

Davie says that adopting shelter dogs will lower the number of dogs euthansized.
Davie collected over 1,000 signatures for Prop B and hopes Humane Day encourages legislators to protect the dogs. She has seen many puppy mill dogs in the shelter.
