A leader of the Republican Senate says he's opposed to a plan proposed by members of his own caucus in the House.

Some of the counties in question include Jefferson County and St. Charles County.

Most opposing Senators say the Republican Senate's plan is a better alternative than the Republican House's.

Senators must come to a decision by the end of the day Monday for the Governor to have to act on the plan before they ajourn for the year.

That was Republican Cape Girardeau Senator Jason Crowell who says he'll do everything he can to block a vote on the House's proposal.

At issue is the plan to split up Missourians who live in the same county between different Congressmen.

Senate Assistant Majority Floor Leader Jack Goodman says he wants to vote on the Senate plan before voting on the House's.
 
If Legislators don't come to a decision by the end of the day Monday, the governor will not have to act on the bill before they ajourn for the year.
