Wrap: Members of the Missouri black caucus voiced objection to Senator Brad Lager's workplace discrimination bill Monday.

Representative Steve Webb says this bill takes Missouri in the wrong direction.

Actuality:  WEBB.WAV
Run Time:  00:08
Description: "These bills aim to weaken the human rights act and make it more difficult to prove discrimination and limiting remedies for victims of discrimination."

The bill would make put a cap on the amount employees can sue for in workplace discrimination lawsuits.

Senator Brad Lager says no one has talked to him about their problems with the bill.

Actuality:  LAGER04.WAV
Run Time:  00:09
Description: "This is more about politics than it is about public policy. If this is a real debate about public policy and what's the right thing to do, in the Senate we sit down and work it out."

Wrap: The controversial workplace discrimination bill places a cap on settlements employees can get from workplace discrimination lawsuits.

Tishaura Jones of the black caucus said the governor is on their side.

Actuality:  JONES1.WAV
Run Time:  00:05
Description: "He's not going to stand for this. If the bill gets to his desk again he will veto it."

But Senator Brad Lager says he doesn't even know if that claim is valid.

Actuality:  LAGER05.WAV
Run Time:  00:10
Description: "I didn't know the governor was still working in the state. I've had no correspondance with him. If someone's hearing from the governor I would be questionable if it was actually him."
