Wrap: The bill would bar the enforcement of any federal gun laws within state boundaries.

It also allows certain school employees to carry concealed weapons, and changes the minimum age to obtain a concealed weapons permit from 21 to 19.

Democratic Representative Stacey Newman called the bill more NRA-sponsored legislation and said the only one profiting off this bill would be gun manufacturers.

Run Time:  00:05
Description: "We're an embarrassment. And this bill does nothing to stop that."

Missouri lawmakers are also considering making gun rights unalienable with a constitutional amendment.

Run Time:  00:11
Description: "this is a serious problem around the country and yet Missouri is a laughing stock because all we do is deal with bills that allow for availability of firearms."

As one state representative gives state lawmakers an "F" on educational reform, the Missouri House narrowly rejects a measure to create stricter evaluations for school principals and administrators.
RunTime:  0:39
OutCue:  SOC

Wrap: Before the measure failed, St. Louis County Democratic Representative Steve Webb said Missouri lawmakers have done nothing significant for educational reform in the past five years he's worked in the statehouse.

Actuality:  WEBBBBB.WAV
Run Time:  00:03
Description: "let's put a letter grade on this legislature...it's been an 'F'"

Despite bipartisan support in both chambers, the measure failed in the House on a nearly 30-minute, 76-82 vote.

Republican Representative Jay Barnes tried to persuade representatives to vote yes during the thirty minute period, as Democratic Senate sponsor Jamilah Nasheed tried to convince representatives from the sidelines.

Nasheed was eventually escorted from the chamber after one representative yelled at her to stop threatening people and leave.
