Missouri senator tries to get a workers' compensation database after failing last year.

Employee's who file for workers' compensation could be placed into an online database only searchable by employers.

Wrap: Senator Mike Cunningham, a Republican from Rogersville, sponsors the bill that would require the state to maintain a database that would track all of workers compensation used by employees.

Employers could only access the database during the pre hire process and with the potential employee's digression.

A similar plan was vetoed by the Governor Jay Nixon last session.

Description: I did address the governors issue I think this year. To refresh everyones memory a potential employer can contact division work comp. by mail with a written request to get work comp. records on an individual.

 

The House Workforce committee took no action on the measure.

The bill would make an online database for employers to search possible employee's workers' compensation past claims.

Democratic Representative Michael Frame from Jefferson County suggested that employees be able to do the same on companies.
