Intro:
Missouri's House of Representatives voted to ban requiring workers to join a union.
RunTime:  0:26
OutCue:  SOC

Wrap: Just about an hour after the House voted, Democratic Governor Jay Nixon attacked the House's approval of the bill.

Actuality:  NIXON2W1.WAV
Run Time:  00:08
Description: I just do not believe that taking away the power of citizens to collectively bargain is an invested interest in the long-term growth of our economy, and that's been my position I've consistently held.

But on the other side, supporters of what they call right to work say workers should be able to choose whether or not to join a union.

Intro:
Governor Jay Nixon called the Senate's approval to ban legislators becoming lobbyists a "baby step."
RunTime:  0:26
OutCue:  SOC

Wrap: The Senate-passed bill would require lawmakers to wait two years before becoming a lobbyist, but the bill exempts current lawmakers.

Nixon called the bill a baby step and said it's a start to ethics reform.

Actuality:  NIXONPAT.WAV
Run Time:  00:06
Description: At least they're doing something, but I hope no one dislocates their shoulder from patting themselves on the back too much.

The Senate is also considering imposing limitations on campaign contributions.
