Wrap: Jefferson City Police Captain Doug Shoemaker said officers will not be able to determine Jackson's cause of death until an autopsy is complete.

Actuality:  SHOE1.WAV
Run Time:  00:12
Description: "I cannot confirm the cause of death until results from the autopsy is official. The autopsy is scheduled for today. The initial investigation gives detectives the reason to believe this is most likely a suicide."

Shoemaker told reporters Jackson was found in his apartment, along with a note. The contents of the note are not being disclosed at this time.

Wrap: Jefferson City Police Captain Doug Shoemaker told reporters investigators believe Jackson's death was most likely a suicide, but would not establish a connection to late Auditor Tom Schweich's death last month.

Actuality:  SHOE2.WAV
Run Time:  00:12
Description: "We are very aware of the political issues that are alleged with Mr. Schweich's death, but our agency won't comment or really entertain questions that might link Mr. Jackson to any type of political issue, whether it's perceived or real."

Jackson served as Schweich's media coordinator. Police told reporters they will likely interview Jackson's co-workers in the auditor's office.

Actuality:  SHOE3.WAV
Run Time:  00:09
Description: "I would caution the public to be very careful about what they read on social media. Everything is sometimes speculation and commentaries can be particularly dangerous."

Investigators said they are aware of the political implication of Jackson and late State Auditor Tom Schweich's deaths, but did not link the two cases.
