Lower tax credits for low income elderly renters. The governor vetoed a bill in 2016, HCB 3, that took unused funds held by licensing boards and other agencies to fund low income elderly health services.

HB 2325 Sponsor:Lavender, Deb Status: H 2nd Read Description: Repeal a requirement that the state treasurer annually have published in newspapers a detailed list of unclaimed or abandoned property that had been held by banks. Require only that the newspaper notice simply contain a statement that the information is available on the treasurer's website.

Also establish provisions under which a police officer can remove a firearm from a person thought to be a risk.

HB 2708 Sponsor:Lavender, Deb Status: H Perfection Description: Decrease the amount of unused funds that gets transferred to General Revenue from several licensing boards. Approved by House Rules on May 16, when there was one day left in the legislative session -- too late for it to be passed by the General Assembly.
