SS HCS HB 1606 Sponsor:Gannon, Elaine Status: GOVERNOR SIGNED Description: Require the Education Department subsidize the costs for the first time a person takes a high school equivalence degree test, subject to appropriations. Also provide applicants with the opportunity to submit contact information for college and career placement. The Senate added a number of unrelated education issues including bussing, sex education course requirements to include sexual harassment, requiring one state Education Board member be a teacher, online schools and more.
