    Description: The Senate-passed version would repeal the power of the governor to appoint an Education Board member when the legislature is not in power. It also would prohibit the governor from withdrawing a nomination without Senate approval. The original bill would require the governor nominate a teacher to be a non-voting representative on the state Board of Education, subject to Senate confirmation - a provision retained in the Senate-passed version.
