But Sen. Betty Sims, R-St. Louis County, said she has felt more included in the debate this year. Sims said that while men still dominate, her concerns about the wording of the bill and its legality have been addressed.
"I find it interesting that in an abortion debate there's only five women, the sponsor of the bill and the inquirer present," said Betty Sims, R-St. Louis County.
But, Republican Senator Betty Sims argued the dome isn't just for sports. She said the dome is used to generate tourism for both the city and the state.
"If you had cancer, you're covered for life, and if you have a disease of the brain you should be covered for life," said Sen. Betty Sims, R-St. Louis County.
