House bill sponsor, Bill Boucher of Kansas City says that many Missouri students do not know the meaning of our country's flag or the pledge of allegiance.
Rep. Bill Boucher, D-Kansas City and a member of the committee, said that the divorce rate dropped 40 percent in one California township that has had a similar requirement for the past five years.
"I don't want to leave people dangling," said Rep. Bill Boucher, D-Kansas City, the sponsor of the legislation. "They have to get a job but if there is no possible way, it is our responsibility to see that they don't just become homeless."
The bill, sponsored by Rep.Bill Boucher, D-Kansas City, would require the placement of smoke detectors in houses, dwellings, apartments, hotels, lodging houses, dormitories and mobile homes.
