Included in a slew of proposed changes was an amendment by Rep. Brad Roark, R-Springfield that would ban gay straight alliances and similar clubs in schools.
"Even if we had the money in the budget to support this type of a system, the system still would not be beneficial, and in my opinion, be a responsible use for taxpayer dollars," said Rep. Brad Roark, R-Springfield.
Representative Brad Roarke who is Chairman of the Committee says part of the cost has to be passed on to someone, but he understands why many are concerned.
"We see a welfare reform bill come through, and we see "no" (from the Democrats)," Rep. Brad Roark, R-Springfield, said. "We see budget bill after budget bill after budget bill voted no. There's been numerous opportunities in this body this year to help out with revenue to help out with other things, but all we see is no,no,no."
