Sens. Mike Gibbons of St. Louis County and Chuck Gross of St. Charles said they are interested in the position. Other returning Republican senators John Cauthorn of Mexico and John Loudon of St. Louis County say they haven't yet decided whether to run.
St. Louis Senator Chuck Gross and Representative Joan Barry both support the bill, which they say would enable officers to access social services unavailable in the city.
Under the bill sponsored by Republican Senator Chuck Gross, the city will still recieve the profits, but surrounding counties will have more say in the airport's operation.
JEFFERSON CITY - Senator Chuck Gross of St. Charles County introduced legislation which would put a state-run group in charge of Lambert International Airport operations.
The committee also discussed the "Terrorism Prevention Act" proposed by Sen. Chuck Gross, R-St. Charles. The act makes it a felony to possess or use weapons of mass destruction and creates a joint committee on terrorism. The bill gives the joint committee an exemption from the state's "Sunshine Law" that requires public meetings to be open.
