After groups who want to restrict the use of eminent domain regulations lambasted what they felt was weak bill from the Missouri House, the Senate committee chaired by Sen. Jason Crowell, R-Cape Giareadu, sent a bill to the Missouri Senate with several alterations they found favorable.
Sen. Jason Crowell, R-Cape Girardeau, paid a political consulting firm operated by Rep. Rod Jetton, R-Marble Hill, $33,000 for work on political campaigns, according to the reports.
There has also been an ongoing controversy concerning Jetton's role as a consultant to Sen. Jason Crowell's, R-Cape Giradeau, 2004 election campaign. Jetton made $33,000 from the arrangment.
The General Laws committee chairman Sen. Jason Crowell, R-Cape Giradeau, said he intends to hopefully weld these bills together for future consideration.
Sens. Chuck Graham, D-Columbia, and Jason Crowell, R-Cape Girardeau, have filed similar bills that would protect reporters from having to disclose their sources in court.
