During debate on the bill, Democratic Senator Joan Bray raised concerns that the bill doesn't require these private companies to be licensed or accredited.
Senate Minority Leader Ken Jacob, D-Columbia, said he gave Sen. Joan Bray, D-St. Louis County, a note saying to move to adjourn if all Republicans left the chamber at any point. "I wish more teachers would go into politics," said Sen. Joan Bray, D-St. Louis County, whose resume also includes two years of teaching language arts and journalism. Because they tend to have a younger retirement age, and because of term limits, Bray said, there are going to be opportunities in the future for those looking to make the jump.
"I think there's really a minimal amount of fraud, nothing has pointed to massive amounts of fraud," said committee member, Sen. Joan Bray before Monday's hearing.
