"Eminent domain is a tremendous power and using it for something like property for a private developer is wrong," said Rep. Rachel Bringer, D-Marion. "I think it is very clear that the state has the power to stop something like that and that is what [we] want to do."
During a house committee hearing, Northwest Missouri Democrat Rachel Bringer started asking pointed questions about why people in her hometown have to pay more for gas then people in Springfield or Cape Girardeau do.
In response to a lengthy exchange between Rep. Rachel Bringer, D-Palmyra and committee staff members, Sen. Matt Bartle, R-Lee's Summit, questioned the need for such thorough inquiry.
