St. Louis Senator Rita Days says she doesn't believe that paying for water services and sewage services should be linked at all. Cauthorn responded by saying there are existing contractual agreements between water and sewage companies.
University President Elson Floyd has discussed the possibility of becoming MU Chancellor when current chancellor Richard Wallace retires this summer. Some state legislators say they want to stop that from happening. Sen. Rita Days says she is worried about the actions of future presidents if Floyd is allowed to become the chancellor of the Columbia campus.
"I think the constitution should be reserved for extremely important items and I do not think this meets that test," said Senator Rita Days, D-St. Louis County. "I don't think this is an issue that the majority of the people in this state are interested in."
JEFFERSON CITY - The measure is supported in the Senate by Democrat from St. Louis County, Rita Days. She argues there is no reason to treat religious child centers any differently.
